'I liked this book so much as it was very funny, especially the way in which Mattie explains how she sees the world and her family'
This story is about a girl called Mattie Butterfield who describes her life with her funny family. She has two sistersm, two brothers and her mum, who is expecting another baby. Mattie tells us the hilarious goings-on during Christmas with her crazy family.
The book really highlights how mad the family is. Mattie's younger brother is named Stanley; her younger sister is named Anika. But because they are inseparable, the pair are known as Stanika!
One of my favourite bits is when Mattie gives her brothers and sisters a pet rock for Christmas because she doesn't know what to give them. She decides to make something and it's a pet rock called Petroc! Many other things happen in the days running up to Christmas, with a lovely surprise on Christmas Day itself.
I liked this book so much as it was very funny, especially the way in which Mattie explains how she sees the world and her family. The author really makes you like Mattie and I am now very keen to read the other books in the series to meet Mattie again.
